than living on the Potomac River, Reston is one of the few areas in
Northern Virginia that you can enjoy waterfront living. The four man
made lakes in Reston are Lake Audubon, Lake
Thoreau, Lake Anne, and Lake
Newport. Plenty of fun can be had on the lakes not to mention the
wonderful views that you will enjoy. Gas motors are prohibited but electric motors are allowed up
to 3 horsepower and you will find many different kinds of watercraft on
the lakes from canoes, kayaks, jon boats, pontoon boats, and floating dock
boats. Most of the lakes do not allow swimming but you will find
many people still do in the summertime. The swimming part of the
Reston Triathlon is performed in Lake Audubon. Fishing is also
popular on the lakes, you will find a variety of species like crappie,
bass, and catfish. |
